The Domino Fell Our Way!
Sometimes God takes a long time to answer prayer… and sometimes He speeds things up a little bit.
We’d like to extend a big Beacon family welcome to Emily “Domino” Kyle, who will be joining us as a summer program coordinator. She comes to us from Riverdrive Bible Chapel in Bradford, and from many years of experience at Hope Valley Day Camp in Peterborough.
Many of you know that Dash and Kodiak recently welcomed a new little one into their family (through adoption). With that arrival and the knowledge that Splenda (Maddie) would need assistance in the office this spring and summer, the decision was made to look for someone who could split their time between office support and program support.
We started advertising the position last month, with a prayerful hope that a responsible person would make themselves available. The middle of April is often a hard time to find a great candidate - most people looking for a summer job have already found one - so you can imagine our delight when Emily put her application in on the very first day! After interviewing her and speaking with those who know her work, we felt very clearly that God had provided us with an incredible blessing.
Emily started last Tuesday, and has already been a huge support for us. She’s got the entire Tuck Shop organized (and ran Tuck for a rental group last weekend). She’s been up to her elbows in organizing and cleaning (the Boathouse was tackled this morning!) and has been a positive, bright light for Beacon.
Please pray for her as she transitions into life at camp for the next four months. Pray for her, and the rest of the summer staff as they trust the Lord this summer while serving at Beacon.
