Most of the blog posts I write are a lot of fun, but sometimes they’re not so fun. This week, I have to let you know that Maddie “Splenda” Hockley will be stepping down at the end of the summer.

Maddie has been a great friend and co-worker at Beacon, but is looking to support her family more (her husband, Mark, is a pastor at a local Muskoka church). After the arrival of her second child, Marlowe, things have been getting increasingly busy. All this to add to a very busy business as a wedding planner means that there just aren’t enough hours in the day.

We appreciated having Maddie here for the past couple of years, and are grateful that God provided her to support us at Beacon at a time of particular need. We’ll miss you, Splenda! You bring so much joy and authenticity to our office, and it will be hard to replace you.

We’ve posted a position description for a new Office Coordinator on our blog (here), and we trust that the Lord will provide the right person as we move forward.
