Please Welcome Guillaume!

Over the last few months, some of you have asked about who will be serving in the kitchen as our Food Service Manager this summer. We are excited to let you know that Eveline “Guillaume” Berrevoets has agreed to step into this crucial role over the coming months to help us get through the strangest summer yet at camp! Please read a bit more about her below, and make sure that you give her a big (distanced) Beacon welcome when you see her at camp next time!

“Salut! My name is Eveline Berrevoets/Guillaume and I’m excited (and a bit scared) to lend a hand as Food Service Manager. All the new regulations are a bit daunting but I hope and pray that campers and staff will be well-fed this summer and full of energy to enjoy all that Beacon has to offer.

I came to Beacon as an adult in 1988 when I worked at camp as summer staff. It was rather comical that my Junior Girls had to show me around because I didn’t know where things were. I ended up immigrating to Canada and living in Toronto with my husband Paul. We were blessed with two great kids and Beacon has become a family affair. Over the years I’ve had the privilege to be involved in Beacon as a cabin leader, cook/head-cook, program staff, labourer, and Paul and I consider it a treat to lead canoe trips at Co-Ed. There isn’t much that can beat a meal cooked over a fire or gazing at the stars while lying on the rocks.

I look forward to once again serve at Beacon and pray that it will be honouring our Lord!”

Eveline will be on-site shortly as the stay-at-home order ends, and will be up at camp with her husband Paul helping to make sure that the kitchen and dining hall are in tip-top shape. Hooray Guillaume!
