Friends of Beacon
Many camper families are not aware that the year-round staff and our seasonal staff are not fully funded by Beacon Bible Camp. In efforts to keep camper fees and overhead costs as low as possible, donors to Friends of Beacon Ministries supply funding to supplement our staff expenses.
While our full time staff are employees of Beacon Bible Camp, all of our other staff serve at camp as a type of missionary, working to further the gospel of Jesus without placing financial burden on the ministry of Beacon itself. As the work at Beacon requires full-time attention, the financial needs of the year-round and seasonal staff are met through the support of individuals and churches who believe in the mission of camp.
Started in 2001, Friends of Beacon is a registered charity that has been set up to provide both prayer and financial support for those who serve year-round at Beacon Bible Camp. The board of Friends of Beacon Ministries truly believes that "the worker deserves his wages" (Luke 10:7) and "those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel." (1 Corinthians 9:14).
Although unique in its set-up, Friends of Beacon Ministries provides funding to Beacon Bible Camp to offset operating expenses and relieve volunteer staff of the responsibility of raising support which allows them to devote their efforts to the ministry. Staff are able and encouraged to connect with family and friends who are interested in supporting them, while Friends of Beacon reaches out to the wider Beacon community to promote the support of the workers.
If you have been blessed by the ministry of Beacon Bible Camp, and wish to support the workers, we encourage you to visit the Friends of Beacon webpage (below) and consider supporting the workers in the ministry.
