Beacon Bible Camp is a non-profit organization that exists to provide an adventurous Christian camping experience where people, particularly youth, can be encouraged to respond to the gospel of the Lord Jesus and to grow in their Christian life.

Registration Updates

Changes for Beacon 2019!

If you're reading this page, it means that you're considering joining us for one of our programs this year. (If you found your way here by accident, click here to see an overview of our programs!).

Registration starts for all summer and fall programs on February 1, 2019. Before you register, we want you to read about a few changes that could affect how your registration works. Please carefully read through the following few items before you click on "I'm ready to register" (which becomes available on February 1st).

See you at Beacon this year!

Waitlists

Starting in 2019, we have a new waitlist function on our registration software. If the camp session you want to register for is full, you’ll be offered a chance to add your child’s name directly to the waitlist. When a spot becomes available, this is the waitlist that we’ll use to contact the next person on the list, so please make sure you add your name!

Basecamp and Wilderness

For 2019, we’re hosting Basecamp and Wilderness during the same week. Our summer this year is shorter than normal (based on when this school year ends and the next one starts), but we didn’t want to cut any programs. This means that 15 and 16 year old campers will have to choose between one of the two options. While Wilderness campers go on their 4 day canoe trip, Basecamp campers will be trying some great new adventures in the Muskoka region - we’ve got some brand-new stuff this year that we can’t wait to try!

Tuck Shop Deposits and Ordering

Tuck Shop Deposits were a big hit last year, so we’re bringing them back to make parents lives easier. During the registration process, you can deposit up to $40 in your camper’s tuck account. As always, you can deposit more money when you arrive at camp.

We’re also adding an option for parents this year to purchase items from our online Tuck Shop, which you can then tell us to “Deliver at camp”, and we’ll give it to your camper when they arrive. This is especially useful if your child is taking the bus. As new Tuck Items arrive at camp in the spring, we’ll add them to the online Tuck shop, but you can take a look right now at what we’ve got:

Cancellation and Refund Policy

We’ve updated our Cancellation and Refund Policy this year because of some long standing issues with last-minute cancellations and camps that fill up very quick in February (only to watch people cancel throughout the spring and summer). Click here for an updated copy of our Cancellation and Refund Policy, and click here for a longer explanation of why we’ve made the changes.

Camp T-Shirts

Camp T-Shirts were also a big hit last year, and we’re glad to be bringing them back! Based on our experience last year, we’re changing the final date of ordering to June 1st - you can order a t-shirt today and we’ll have it waiting for you when arrive at camp. A reminder about a few details:

  • T-shirt sizes are unisex. You know your child better than we do, so please plan accordingly when ordering a size.

  • This t-shirt won't be available in the Tuck Shop - this is a registration only item!

Cell Phone Policy

Once again, this is a very friendly (but serious!) reminder that cell phones and other similar technology are not a welcome part of Beacon’s programs. Camp is a special time for them to unplug and connect with friends the old-fashioned way: face to face. Any devices brought to camp will be returned to parents at the registration tent, or held for the camper in the office if it is found after parents leave. Please remind your campers that this is for their own benefit, and leave your phones at home!

(We think cameras are great. If your child brings a camera, please make sure it doesn't have the ability to connect to the Internet)

Okay: that's everything for now. If you have any questions, please get in touch with us. We want your family to have the best summer possible, and we hope that Beacon will be a part of that summer!
