Introducing... Summer Staff 2018!
Alyssa LaRocque
They're the unsung heroes of Beacon Bible Camp. Without them, floors would get filthy, toilets would remain plugged, lawns and trails would become overgrown, the tuck shop wouldn't run, and swimming would be out of the question. Without them, our summer sessions just couldn't run.
Who are they? SUMMER STAFF!
Every year, Beacon is so thankful to welcome a crew of people who are willing to work behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly at camp so that God's message can go out freely. The onsite team would not be able to keep up with the workload without the efforts of this team.
As we look forward to Summer 2018, one of the reasons we're excited is because of the great group of people that God has brought together to be this year's squad! And we want you to share in our excitement too! Without further ado (and in alphabetical order by camp name), it gives me great pleasure to introduce the 2018 Summer Staff:
Chris "Abu" Henein - A returning member from last year's team, Chris is known, among other things, for his stunning photography and mad music skills. He'll serve as a member of the Maintenance crew.
Matthew "Big Mac" Vandekemp - Undoubtably Beacon's tallest regular attendee in recent years, Matthew will be a solid contributor as a member of the Maintenance crew.
Leah "Hershey" Heinen - Leah will be joining our team coming off of a year as one of the key leaders of her student government. She will be one of our Lifeguard/Maintenance team members.
Abbey "Sketch" Nicoletti - This is not Abbey's first rodeo! She has been a beloved member of Beacon's summer staff multiple times, and will serve as this year's Waterfront Director.
Krista "Sneezy" Porter - A familiar face to many at Beacon because of how often she's served as a cabin leader, cook, child care worker and program staff in the last few years, Krista will be on the Lifeguard/Maintenance team.
Sonia "Sprout" Gauld - Sonia has already mastered the art of the Beacon kitchen and will now move on to conquer new skills as a member of the Lifeguard/Maintenance team.
Nicolas "Tops" Schaeffer - Anyone who has had Nic as their cabin leader knows that his camp name couldn't be more true! Nic will serve in the capacity of a Lifeguard/Maintenance team member.
Please support our summer staff team this year in your prayers and through your encouragement! If you have the desire to support their work financially, you can click here to visit the website for Friends of Beacon, the charitable organization that manages our Summer Staff Fund.
You can look forward to seeing these smiling faces soon. Go team go!
