Summer Wrap-Up: Senior Boys
Luke LaRocque
Another year of Senior Boys has come and gone, and we are always so amazed at how much fun these gentlemen manage to pack into one week of camp! From the Wide Game to Glowgons, there are so many Senior Boys traditions that it's hard to imagine that it somehow all gets done, but Winger and Chester pulled it off!
Favourite Moments: Glowgons is a favourite camp game of mine - campers are working together with their cabin groups to get various coloured glowsticks from one location to another, all while trying to avoid cabin leaders who are dressed up and hiding in the woods. Each year the campers learn a little bit more about how to sneak around camp, and the cabin leaders have to up their game.
Silliest Moments: Chester and Winger really wanted to bring the heat to match their "Fan into Flame" theme this week, and I think one of their best ideas was creating a hot sauce challenge for the staff... which only lasted a few days. They had to admit defeat when some of the staff (sorry Moto) started coughing on the easy hot sauces, and when one of the directors tried "Da Bomb"... and couldn't feel his tongue. :)
Meaningful Moment: Last night of Senior Boys, sitting around a blazing campfire. There's nothing better than hearing the guys singing their hearts out to God. Each morning and night, our cabin leaders shared their hearts with the campers and really helped them to understand how important their faith can be, and there's nothing better than that!
The Weather Report: The weather tried hard to get in the way this week, but we were ready. We had to move our overnight trips for the campers from Tuesday night to Wednesday night, but everyone was cheerful and pleasant about the change - and the rest of the week was absolutely gorgeous!
