Work Days Never Looked Like So Much Fun!
Luke LaRocque
It’s that sad time of year again… the leaves are really starting to fall off the trees, our last rental groups are saying goodbye, and it’s starting to feel “frosty” in the morning… it’s time for a Fall Work Day!
It’s not that a Fall Work Day is sad in itself (they’re actually a lot of fun!), but it does mean that 2018 is truly coming to an end at Beacon.
This year, we need a lot of help with a few specific projects that we want to get done before the snow falls. Would you consider joining us (with a rake or two) for all or part of the day on Saturday, October 27?
Some outdoor tasks include:
re-roofing the Crowsnest (some skill required here)
storing the waterfront equipment
taking down trampolines and other sports equipment
raking leaves (and more leaves, and more leaves)
moving firewood
Looking for an indoor job? That’s okay! We need help with:
doing a last deep clean of the fridge to get ready for winter rentals (and other kitchen tasks)
moving items from the Tuck Shop to the freezer
organizing craft and costume supplies
tidying up a few common areas
getting ready for our winter rentals in the Town Hall and Dining Hall.
As always, we’ll provide a great meal in the middle of the day. If it’s easier for you to come on Friday night, please let us know, and we’ll figure out how to accommodate you!
