Lives: Bradford, Ontario (and at Beacon!)
How long have you been attending/serving at Beacon?
I arrived as a camper in 1975 at Intermediate Girls Camp. I have been attending/serving since then.
How would you describe your current role?
I am supporting Mark in his role as Facilities Manager and also the other full time staff.
What are some interesting tasks that you've worked on at camp in the last year?
My first spring at camp, I overhauled the garden in front of the Crowsnest, and in the fall, gave the interior of Hemlock some fresh paint and trim.
What are your personal favourite food, place and activity at camp?
Food:Joyce's Chicken and Maple Chocolate Mania cake
Place: The beach
Activity: Swimming across the lake
What are you up to in life outside of camp these days?
I am currently involved in wedding preparations for my daughter, painting/renovation projects and sewing curtains.
What’s a talent or hobby of yours that people might not know about?
I play the Scottish Highland Bagpipes with Innisfil Pipes and Drums.
Why do you love volunteering at Beacon?
I was saved at camp my first year and it has continued to inspire me in my walk with Christ. I love that I can serve God at camp and use the gifts He has given me.
